“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” – Hebrews 6:19 (NIV)
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?
These are not just lyrics from the timeless hymn “Will Your Anchor Hold” — they are deep questions for the soul.
On Wednesday during our Fellowship, my friend Eng. Harriet shared profound insights on Hope Anchored on God’s Promises. Her words lingered in my heart: Hope that is anchored doesn’t drift. It made me ask myself: Will my anchor hold when life’s unexpected waves come crashing in?
Will your anchor hold when the doctor gives you news you didn’t pray for?
Will your anchor hold when the job is lost, the bills pile up, and doors close?
Will your anchor hold when loved ones disappoint or when grief knocks at your door?
Will your anchor hold when faith is tested, and silence is the only response from heaven?
The hymn continues:
We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll;
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love.
This is not blind optimism — this is blessed assurance. That God’s promises are unshaken, His Word unbroken, and His presence unfailing.
We will all face our Jordan — that moment between what we’ve known and what lies ahead, between this life and eternity. And when that time comes…
Will your anchor hold in the last kilometre, when the light dims and eternity beckons?
Anchors are meant for storms, not calm seas. And God, in His faithfulness, has given us a sure anchor — Jesus Christ — whose grip never slips, and whose love never lets go.
So I ask you, just as I asked myself:
Will your anchor hold till you safely cross the Jordan?
Will your hope remain fastened to the Rock of Ages?
Today, renew your trust. Strengthen your anchor line and when the tide turns, may it find you grounded, firm and deep in the Savior’s love.

This is very powerful..thanks my brother.fir sharing .may God help us to be strong anchoring our hope in his promises.amen
