“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.” Isaiah 6:1 (NIV)
Do you remember Mmomonyoko wa Udongo? The textbook chapters, the causes—deforestation, overgrazing, poor farming practices. That’s good if you remember… because this devotion has nothing to do with soil erosion. But it does have everything to do with a God who is never shaken—never diminished—never worn down.
The Lord is truly Lifted up.
In Isaiah’s vision, God is not running around trying to fix things or gather support. He is seated. Calm. Reigning. His robe fills the temple—not partially, not corner to corner—fills it. He is not dethroned when earthly kings die, when foundations shake, or when we feel overwhelmed. He is lifted above uncertainty.
HE is Lifted above national trouble.
The year King Uzziah died was a time of political instability and fear. Yet God gave Isaiah a vision—not of panic in heaven but of divine majesty. When your nation is going through upheaval, don’t forget: God’s throne is not up for re-election. His sovereignty is not affected by polling results, economic shifts, or social disorder. He is lifted above the chaos of governments and the noise of headlines.
HE is Lifted above personal struggles.
Your sickness, job loss, delays, or grief are real—and they hurt. But they do not define the limits of God’s reach. In Psalm 61:2, David says, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” That rock is Christ. He is higher. Stronger. Above your emotions, above the lies of the enemy, above depression.
Even when you are beneath the burden, He is lifted above it—and He lifts you with Him.
HE is Lifted above the enemy.
When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord lifts a standard against him (Isaiah 59:19). No attack, no witchcraft, no scheme can pull God down. In fact, Colossians 2:15 says He disarmed principalities and powers, making a public spectacle of them. He is not intimidated by Satan; He has already overcome.
And if He is lifted above, then so are you—because you are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6).
When was the last time you paused to see the Lord as lifted up—above your situation?
What needs to be brought under His Lordship today?

Hallelujah
