YOUR TRUE COLOURS

But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’”
— 1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV)

We live in a world that’s loud with opinions, protests, and pain. Yesterday, a video resurfaced—just one of many—that showed a doctor, caught in the chaos of a Gen Z protest, pleading for mercy. Not for herself alone, but for the injured, for the police, for all. She had been attending to both sides. -The Police and the Peaceful Demonstrators, Yet, she walked away broken—abused and in tears.

And it makes you pause.

Who am I, really?
What would I do if I were there?
What are my true colours?
Not the ones I show when life is easy—but when it’s hard.
When I’m misunderstood. When I’m mistreated.

God sees beyond our filters and facades. He sees our core. Not the outer image we curate—but the heart we carry.

So today, pause and ask yourself:
Who do people say I am?
Who does God say I am?
And more importantly—do they match?

May our colours be true. May they reflect the God who made us.
Not just in worship, but in love.
In how we treat those who can’t repay us.
In how we stand with those who weep.
In how we bleed for truth and mercy—just like Christ did.
