HAVE A SIT PLEASE

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” – Luke 12:25 (NIV)

Now take a deep breath.

Again. Relax—God is in control.

Worry is like trying to charge your phone using a spoon—plenty of effort, zero results.

Still, we do it. We stress over things we can’t change and wear ourselves out trying to fix what only God can handle.

Let me tell you about Maina.

Maina was jobless and struggling. His rent was overdue, his phone lived on “Please Call Me” mode, and ugali had become more of a dream than a meal. Every morning he’d dress up in his one good shirt, ironed so sharply it could slice cabbage, and head out with his CV, applying everywhere—from banks to butcheries.

After months of rejection, Maina began to panic. He borrowed money from friends he hadn’t spoken to since Form 4, attended every motivational seminar in town (even the one where they made him chant “I am a CEO” five times), and considered becoming a boda boda rider with no bike.

He worried himself sick. But here’s the thing—worry didn’t bring a job. God did.

When he finally surrendered his fears in prayer and focused on doing what he could faithfully—volunteering at church, helping a neighbor with their kiosk—that’s when doors started opening. A friend referred him, and within a month, he got a job he hadn’t even applied for.

Worry is loud, but faith whispers peace.Let God take control. He sees your effort, hears your prayers, and knows your struggle..God knows what we need. He sees the end from the beginning.

Worrying is often our way of trying to take control of what only God can handle. Jesus reminds us in Luke 12:25 that no amount of worry will make us taller, richer, safer—or younger (sorry, filters don’t count!).

Instead of losing sleep, let’s lose the worry.

Let God’s will prevail in your life. He has never lost control, and He won’t start with your situation.
