“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
I still remember the day I was sent for my first attachment at a luxury resort in Nanyuki. Fresh from Nairobi, I was the plump city boy — eager but unsure. The first department I was posted to was Housekeeping. You could almost hear the whispers: “Huyu atawezana kweli?”
Would I manage? Could I really do this?
But then came Mama Luciana.
She didn’t just assign me tasks — she took me in like her own child. She taught me the rhythms of hard work, the power of diligence, and the joy of quiet excellence. We’d always finish our tasks before 11am. The rest of the day was spent resting, laughing, and catching old-school entertainment on KBC — was it Afrosinema continues? Maybe. But the peace I felt was real.
That season taught me something life-changing: People will always label you — sometimes softly, sometimes loudly. They’ll put you in boxes based on how you look, where you’re from, or what they think you can or can’t do. But those opinions are not your truth.
Your real identity is not defined by whispers in the corridor, but by the Word of God.
You are not just the plump boy from Nairobi.
You are not just the girl who doesn’t quite “look the part.”
You are a child of God, created with purpose and filled with potential — unbound potential.
God doesn’t call the qualified — He qualifies the called.
And if He placed you in a space, no matter how intimidating it looks at first, He has already equipped you with what it takes to thrive there. Your strength is not your own — it is Christ’s strength in you.
So today, wherever you are — whether you’re at the beginning of a new job, starting a business, entering a classroom, or healing from self-doubt — remember this: You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
You are not limited. You are limitless in Him.
