THE LOG IN MY EYES

Matthew 7:3 (NIV)”Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

Who else is like, me, always there —ready to correct, rebuke, and point fingers. After all, I have seen the flaw. Clear as day. But as I serve my “holy correction,” God gently whispers, “Check your mirror.”. We nowadays say.. iyo imeenda… ama Itakuramba…so easily without seeing the sinking sand we are in ourselves.

I recently lost a budding friendship since I meedled too much not stopping n pausing and looking at the miry clay I was in myself

Life has a way of humbling us. We’re quick to analyze others: “He talks too much,” “She’s not serious with her life,” “They should know better.”

But when was the last time we paused and asked: “What about me? What log am I dragging around?”

A man went to the doctor complaining, “Doctor, I have trouble seeing clearly!”The doctor examined him and said, “Sir, the problem might be that you’re wearing someone else’s glasses… from 1994.” Sometimes we judge using lenses not meant for us—blurred by pride, pain, or past.

We often rush to shine the spotlight on someone else’s faults while ignoring the floodlight needed in our own souls.

Jesus calls us not to perfection, but to humility. Not to be judges, but witnesses of grace. And the best witness is one who knows they too need mercy.

Indulge me……

1. What “log” might God be inviting you to recognize in your own life today?

2. Have you recently judged someone harshly—either silently or openly—without first examining your own heart?

3. How can you practice more humility and grace when responding to the flaws of others?
