APPRECIATE SELF

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” — Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

So the other day, something happened in our building that reminded me why God made us all different. My neighbour upstairs locked herself out. The main door was sealed tighter than a bank vault, and the only open way in was the balcony, not unless, tungevunja Padlock

Now, unless Jesus Himself descended, the only plan was to climb the side of the building. Enter me — all the Waru sacks kgs of God’s full glory.

I offered to help… but even the buckets looked at me like, “Aki wacha!” ???? I knew if I attempted that mission, watu wangepiga nduru thinking there’s an earthquake. So I did what I do best — I became the ground coordinator, the official messenger, the one holding phones and shouting instructions from below.

But that moment hit me: I may not be a climber, but that doesn’t make me less useful. God didn’t create us to do everything, but to do something, and do it well.

Too often, we admire others’ gifts — their height, their energy, their “fit fam” bodies — and we forget the amazing traits we carry: wisdom, humour, presence, compassion, even good handwriting, is it something, though?

Psalm 139 tells us we are fearfully and wonderfully made. God doesn’t make mistakes — including the size, shape, or skills He gave you.

So today, stop apologizing for who you’re not. Celebrate who you are.

Even if you can’t climb balconies, you might be the reason someone didn’t give up today.
