WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD

He asked me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ I said, ‘Sovereign Lord, you alone know.’” —

Ezekiel 37:3

In the valley of dry bones, the prophet Ezekiel is faced with a hopeless scene—bones scattered, lifeless, silent. And then God asks him a piercing question:“Can these bones live?”

Ezekiel’s response is powerful in its honesty and surrender:“Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”

Yesterday, across our nation, the streets had become a voice for the voiceless. Young people rose—not in violence, but in deep yearning for a better future. Their cries echo the question that God asked Ezekiel:
“Can these bones live?”

As we witnessed these demonstrations, we see a nation wrestling with brokenness—systems that have dried up, promises that feel forgotten, and dreams that seem distant. And like Ezekiel, many of us are asking:
Will this nation rise again?

Can justice, equity, and peace be restored?

Only God knows.

But that is not a resignation—it is a declaration of hope. Because the God who asked the question is the same God who brings life to dry bones. He can raise up a generation of leaders shaped by truth, compassion, and righteousness. He can breathe life into institutions, families, and futures that feel beyond repair.

We see broken systems, frayed trust, and uncertainty about tomorrow.

We wonder:

• Will it get better?

• Will our children be safe?

• Will justice roll down like waters?

But here’s the hope: the same God who asked the question also gave the answer. He told Ezekiel to prophesy—and as he obeyed, the bones rattled, came together, and were filled with life.

God can bring life to what looks dead. He can revive a nation. He can stir hearts. He can guide the next generation to build what our generation could only dream of.

So today, don’t let the valley fool you. God is still speaking. And He’s still asking:“Can these bones live?
