But right now, we ask ourselves,
where did the rain start beating us?

Kenya, oh Kenya…
We cry for you.
We cry for the Gen Z running from teargas….
We cry for the mothers kneeling by street corners praying their sons won’t be next…..
We cry for the youth… full of purpose, but now full of questions.

Let no one separate us… not tribe, not politics, not power, not pain.
Let no one divide us when our future is one and the same.

Kenya is bigger than those who seek to profit from our chaos.
Kenya is greater than greed, louder than hate, stronger than bullets.

So today we pause.
We ask God to cover this land.
To heal our streets, to open our leaders’ hearts, to give courage to the broken, and hope to the weary.

Today we remember: Peace is not weakness, it is wisdom.
Justice is not an option, it is a command.
And unity is not a slogan, it is our survival.

So wherever you are, may you be a peacemaker.
