“When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” — Isaiah 60:22 (NIV)
Yesterday, I received several direct messages from friends and acquaintances saying how this devotional has become their morning go-to. Their words fuelled my spirit and reminded me that what we share in faith reaches hearts in ways we may never fully understand.
One friend said they are going through so much — and maybe many of us are, too. Life feels uncertain, and our prayers sometimes seem unanswered. But here’s what we know for sure:
Delays are not denials. God is never late. And when the time is right, He will make it happen.
1. Development Happens in the Delay
The delay is not meant to destroy you but to develop you.
Romans 5:3-4 reminds us that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
In the waiting, God is refining your character and deepening your faith. Don’t waste the waiting season — allow it to shape who you are becoming.
2. Direction Becomes Clearer in the Delay
The pause often reveals the path. Sometimes God delays what we desire to give us what we truly need. Proverbs 3:6 says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Perhaps the delay is God’s way of protecting you or steering you toward a better destination.
3. Dependence on God is Strengthened
Waiting seasons remind us that we are not in control. In our weakness, we learn to lean fully on God’s strength. Psalm 62:5 says, “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him.”
He sustains us when we have no strength left of our own.
4. Doors Will Open When the Time is Right
Some doors remain closed simply because it’s not the appointed time. But when God says it’s time, no one can stop it.
Revelation 3:8 says, “See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” Stay faithful and expectant; His timing is perfect.
Reflection
- What part of your life feels delayed?
- What prayers feel unanswered?
- Take them to God today. Surrender your timeline and trust His perfect timing.
When the time is right… He will make it happen.
P.S. If these devotionals bless your heart, kindly drop a comment on the blog itself. Your words might be the encouragement someone else needs today.

I was feeling a bit uncertain, but your encouragement really boosts my confidence.
