CHOSEN & ROYALTY

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” I Pet 2:9

I am reminded of someone serving at a local church as a cleaner. Day in, day out, they swept floors and arranged chairs. Then, over time, they were promoted to a Verger. In that role, they got the opportunity to travel to the U.K. for a learning experience. While there, a spark was lit in their heart for theology. Years later, they got ordained into full-time clergy and recently received a very decent appointment — all because they remained humble and of a calm spirit.

I’m also reminded of a lady who, about 10 years ago, started out as an intern. From receptionist to assistant marketer, from head of sales to F&B manager — her growth didn’t stop there. She rose to become the General Manager of the best hotel in a Kenyan city. Today, she is a Cluster Manager overseeing several properties.

When I think about these stories, I see the truth of Ecclesiastes 9:11 — “Time and chance happen to them all.” No one starts at the top, but those who walk faithfully, humbly, and diligently often find themselves in places they never imagined.

In our different capacities, backgrounds, and circumstances, there is a common thread: God has marked us as chosen and royalty.

Your present season does not define your final position. What matters is the posture of your heart, the faithfulness of your hands, and the humility of your spirit.

So, today, be reminded — no matter where you are or what role you hold — you are a child of the King. And if you are His, you carry His favour, His purpose, and His promotion timetable.

Stay faithful. Time and chance will meet you right where you are.

You are chosen. You are royalty. Walk like it. Speak like it. Live like it.
