Ndikhokele Bawo translates to Lead me Lord.
We truly have an Author, the One who writes our stories. He knows the beginning and the end. He understands what is best for us even when we think we’ve figured it out.
Many times, we rush ahead, convinced that what we desire is good enough, but He sees deeper. He knows what will build us and what will break us.
I remember one time… I really desired to do some business. Let me keep it undisclosed — mimi nawajua mtanichekelea. Heeeh, that was a strange one! I had consulted no one, I only leaned on what I thought was wisdom, and to be honest, I saw others flourish in it. But when I tried, Whueeeeh, nothing worked. Doors closed, opportunities dried up, and frustration followed.
Let me tell you, I learnt something powerful: the only place we’ll ever truly flourish is in following the Lord’s leading. Where He guides, He provides. Where He sends, He sustains. Sometimes the detours He allows are not punishment, but protection. He shields us from paths that look profitable but end in pain.
So today, pause and whisper from your heart: “Lead me Lord. I am tired of leaning on my own understanding. Order my steps, write my story, and let me flourish only in Your will.”
Because in the end, it’s better to be in God’s plan than in man’s success.
