“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” – Matthew 6:27
Ever wondered why worry or in other spaces anxiety—keeps you sapped off all energy?
It drains your mind, it drains your heart, it drains your entire existence. You start your day with hope, but by evening you feel depleted simply because your thoughts have been racing, trying to carry loads that were never yours to bear.
There’s an old song that still rings true today: Why worry when you can pray? Trust in Jesus, He knows the way.
That refrain is more than a lyric—it’s a reminder that prayer is not a last resort but the first line of defense against the grip of worry.
Scripture asks us plainly: what would worry add to your life? The answer is nothing.
Worry cannot change the outcome of tomorrow, nor can it rewrite the past. Instead, it steals the strength of today. It diverts your focus, leaving you empty instead of empowered.
In spaces you can’t figure out things, worry won’t help; just pray. When situations are beyond your understanding, beyond your control, beyond your reach—lift them to God. Prayer redirects your heart from despair to hope, from confusion to clarity, from heaviness to peace.
And in those spaces where you feel you have given your all and it’s still not yielding—just pray and believe in God. Your effort may be limited, but His grace is unlimited. Your understanding may fail, but His wisdom is unsearchable.
Worry says it’s impossible. Faith says with God, all things are possible.
So today, let go of worry. Guard your energy, your heart, your mind, your existence by laying your burdens at the feet of Jesus. Pray, trust, and let God lead the way.
