GUTHEREMA (KUOMOKA)

Then you shall see and become radiant,
And your heart shall swell with joy;
Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you,
The wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you. Isaiah 60:5

Its the absolute desire for everyone reading this to get to a place that we have all our needs and wants covered and it is all in different levels. As a young school going boy, I remember when My Mother and Sister were making a Juice Brand called Jenka Juices, I also got entrepreneurial and started making ile ka-ice ya 1 bob na kubwa kidogo za mti ya 5 bob… Good Old Days, nlianza gutherema kitambo, is not just yesterday. Hahahaha

My mind also reminds me one of my other first businesses was a Kinyozi, before I started working in Juja, then when work began, mjamaa – Franco, akaanza kunihustle, he started minting from my business legit, pia yeye, He was like, he needs kuomoka pia. Heeee, Nairobi!!, Let me tell you……. the day sales went down by 70%, thats when I threw in the towel, literally on that business

Today, is the 2nd last day of the Reading year and I’m directed to just charge you with the words in Isaiah 60:5, the Lord desires this of you. the desire for increase, stability, progress — none of them are random. They are actually echoed in Scripture over and over. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”

Which means God is not in the business of teasing you with empty longings. If the desire is in you, He intends to fulfil it in His time and in His way.

Even in the quiet longings we barely admit, Scripture still speaks. In 3 John 1:2, John writes, “I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” That’s a holistic desire — prosperity in all things, not just spiritual, not just financial, not just emotional. All things. And that tells me that God’s heart for us is far bigger than we often imagine.

The Lord desires this of you. He desires that you see the goodness He’s been arranging. He desires that your heart swells with joy because of what He brings into your life. He desires that you walk into seasons where you finally look around and say, “Surely, God has been with me.”

By the way, it also reminds me of Philippians 4:19 — “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Meaning God’s supply is not based on the economy, not based on Nairobi pressure, not based on who tried to mint from your hustle. His supply comes from His riches, not yours.

So as you reflect on this season, sit with this promise intentionally.
“You shall see…” — visibility is coming.
“…and become radiant…” — transformation will happen.
“…and your heart shall swell with joy…” — fulfillment is guaranteed.

Your hustles were/ are not in vain. The failed attempts were not a waste. The desire for better is not greed — it’s divine wiring. And the same God who planted the desire is the same God who promises the joy.

God is not just promising that you will be radiant; He’s assuring you that what once looked uncertain will one day make perfect sense. Maybe some things grew and others collapsed. Maybe your faith is tired in a few corners. Maybe you’re even questioning desires you once held with confidence.

But hear this clearly — God still desires increase for you, and nothing about your current season cancels His intention.

Hold Isaiah 60:5 close today.
Let it light up hope in places that have grown quie and dull
And believe — genuinely believe — that you will see what God has been preparing for you.
