NOTHING IS PERMANENT

đŸ“–
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NIV)

It really breaks my heart to see such a beautiful dining place looted, destroyed, and everything stolen.

One day… you are in business, smiling as you serve your clients, growing your dream brick by brick.
The next day… you are staring at broken glass, empty shelves, and a heart full of questions, unsure of your next step, your next meal, your next beginning.

RD Address, located at Gwa Kairu, stood as a testimony of hard work, of sacrifice, of sweat and silent prayers. And now, it—alongside so many other businesses in different parts of the country—has suffered the cruel hands of destruction.
Lord, have mercy on us.
Have mercy on the families who depended on these businesses for survival.
Have mercy on the countless dreams now shaken.
Have mercy on our nation, crying silently in its pain.

But even in this dark moment, I hear a gentle whisper from God’s word reminding us:
“This too shall pass.”
What has a beginning has an ending.

Whatever the struggle,
Whichever the situation,
However heavy the burden…

It is not permanent.

Seasons change.
Storms cease.
Tears dry.
And broken hearts are slowly rebuilt.

It may not make sense now.
It may hurt beyond words right now.
It may feel unfair and cruel right now.

But it will not last forever.
Because God’s mercy is new every morning.
Because God’s promises still stand.
Because though weeping may endure for the night, joy comes in the morning.

So we must not give up.
Let us uphold our country in prayer.
Let us lift up one another in love.
Let us rebuild where we can, restore what we can, and wait upon the Lord for what only He can heal.

Nothing is permanent.
Even pain has an expiry date.
Even destruction has a limit.
Even loss is not the end of the story.

We shall overcome.
Yes, by the grace of God, we shall overcome.
